Mosaics
I live and work at Rowland, near Bakewell in the Peak District National Park, England.
Although mosaics are an ancient art form I like to experiment with more contemporary styles and materials. I very much like to vary my work and so welcome commissions which may take me in directions I would not have naturally chosen.
My inspiration comes both from my surroundings – the landscape and the animals in my rural neighbourhood, and also from the materials I use – stained glass & smalti with their vibrancy & stunning colours, ceramics with their variety of tones & textures, and slate, rusted metal & found objects, to bring even more subtle textures.
I have previously been a member of the British Association for Modern Mosaics and the Peak District Artisans (PDA). These days I am just a member of the High Peak Artists, based at the Pavilion Gardens Buxton Derbyshire
